Transition Missoula is happy to offer these opportunities to get involved and support a just transition to a sustainable Missoula community.
If you live in Missoula/Missoula County here is what you can do.
1. Sign an open letter in support of 100% Clean Electricity for Missoula
On April 3 the Missoula Board of County Commissioners and the City of Missoula Committee of the Whole (COW) will consider a joint resolution adopting a goal of 100% Clean Electricity by 2030 for the Missoula Community, including the City and surrounding urban development area. This resolution is tied to the 100% Clean Electricity Options Report co-authored by Climate Smart Missoula, Missoula County, and the City of Missoula (the draft resolution text and the Options Report v2 are both available here).
Please share with your friends and colleagues. This really is a big deal for our community!
2. Attend a community dialogue on 100% clean energy on March 16 or 18
100% Clean Energy: A Livable Missoula for All aims to bring together a diverse group of Missoulians to think big about what a “livable” Missoula means in the context of climate change. There are still spots available for these dialogues! Please register by Thursday 3/14 to help us get a headcount and provide enough food.
All residents of Missoula county are welcome to attend. Come help shape the vision for a path to 100% clean energy that is equitable and affordable for all.
There are two dates - choose the option that works best for you:
Saturday, March 16th: 9 AM - noon at Home Resource
Monday, March 18th: 5:30-8:30 PM at the Missoula Public Library
This event is FREE, and food and childcare are provided. Register here today.
Thanks for speaking up and moving Missoula forward!
